Obituary of Jeanne Schmitz

Jeanne (Hunter) Schmitz, age 91, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Chilton Medical Center, Pequannock Twsp. Mrs. Schmitz was born July 4, 1924 in Hawthorne, the daughter of the late George and the late Sarah (Smith) Hunter. She recently lived in Pompton Plains and was formerly a long time resident of Wayne. Mrs. Schmitz retired from the Wayne Township Public Library where she was a bookkeeper. Mrs. Schmitz was a member of Preakness Reformed Church. Mrs. Schmitz is survived by her loving daughters, Jo Ann Mc Dermott and Karyn Mardis; four granddaughters and nine great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Theodore in 2001. Visiting hours will be Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Nicols officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
