Obituary of Lena "Sis" Bosland
Lena "Sis" (Priestley) Bosland, age 104, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne. She was born on June 24, 1910 in Byram Township, the daughter of the late Edward and the late Amelia (Sutton) Priestley. She lived in Wayne and was formerly of Sussex County. Lena was a 1930 graduate of Roxbury H.S., a 1931 graduate of Calmon Business School, and in 1936, became a registered nurse. In 1964, she graduated from the Dean Trout School of Floral Design and established Bosland's Flower Shop, Wayne. Lena was the Owner/Operator of Bosland's, with her husband until retiring in 1975. Lena was a former Vice President of the Passaic Bergen Florist association and a member of the school of Floral Design of NJ. Mrs. Bosland was a member of the Preakness Bible Church, Wayne since 1939 where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a founding member of the first Brownie Troop in Wayne.
She is survived by her daughter: Priscilla Albey, a brother: Fred Bender, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert N. Bosland, her son, Robert N., Jr. her daughters: Beverly J. Taylor and Barbara J. Moore and her granddaughter, Robin DeBoer.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 PM.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am at Preakness Bible Church, 1108 Preakness Ave, Wayne and will be celebrated by Pastors Karl Records & Ron Rombough.
Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
