Obituary of Salvatore John Giannini

Salvatore John ''Sam'' Giannini, age 84, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York. Mr. Giannini was born December 9, 1930 in Paterson, the son of the late Amato and the late Anna (Fierro) Giannini. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Woodland Park. Mr. Giannini served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a New Jersey State Trooper, retiring in 1980 after 27 years of service. Mr. Giannini was a member of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church. Mr. Giannini is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Margaret (Ryerson); his loving children Thomas and his wife Cindy, John and his wife Sandy, Michael and his wife Christine, Patricia and her husband Richie Stryker, and Barbara Giannini; and his cherished grandchildren Matthew, Anthony, Mark, Alexandra, Michael, Michelle and Nicole. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Giannini's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
