Obituary of Dorothy C. Buckley

Dorothy C. (Carman) Buckley, age 95, died Sunday, March 15, 2015. Mrs. Buckley was born July 31, 1919 in Paterson, the daughter of the late William and the late Johanna (Vanderwide) Carman. She was a homemaker living in Pompton Lakes, then Florida before moving to Whiting in 1993. Mrs. Buckley was an avid bird watcher and she loved to write poems and short stories. Mrs. Buckley is survived by her beloved daughters Luray Engels and Joyce Thompson; her loving grandchildren, Dawn Riordan, Roy Thompson, Richard Thompson, Tara McGovern and Scott Thompson, III; her devoted great-grandchildren, Brianna, Chase, Clay, Leigha, Reigan, Walker and Kendall; her cherished great-great granddaughter, Hannah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Buckley in December 2005. Visiting hours will be Friday from 10-11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be a service at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Thomas Bartha. Interment will be in Pompton Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Lakes.
