Obituary of Mary Lucarelli

Mary (Serene) Lucarelli, age 92, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at home in Wayne. Mrs. Lucarelli was born September 10, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Giovanni and the late Margherita (Coletta) Serene. She was employed by NY Bell Telephone for over 20 years as an Operator. Mrs. Lucarelli was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne. Mary was a skilled seamstress and loved to knit. She loved reading romance novels and her favorite game was Wheel of Fortune. Most of all, Mary loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a fabulous baker and cook. Mary was loved by all. She is survived by her four sons: Joseph and his wife Ginny Lucarelli, Mario and his wife Francesca Lucarelli, Michael and his wife Maria Lucarelli, James and his wife Wanda Lucarelli; a sister: Lillian and her husband Aldo Lucca; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario J. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 1-5pm. The funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Entombment will be in Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa.
