Obituary of Helen A. Mattessich

Helen A. (Magnapera) Mattessich, age 84, of Wayne, formerly of Little Ferry, died peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014. She was born on September 4, 1930 in Hoboken, the daughter of the late Anthony and the late Anna (Damico) Magnapera. Her love of children brought her to continue caring for infants and toddlers at the Presbyterian Day Center when she resided in Florida. Helen was a devoted wife and the beloved mother of daughter, Annette and husband Martin Vaughn, and sons Jack and wife Mary, Anthony, Joseph and Michael Mattessich; and loving grandmother of Nicholas, Cara, Joseph and Michael. She was predeceased by her husband John in November, 1995 and son John in June, 2012. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
