Janet Ireland,This lady runs the coffee bar for S.U.D.S. (Sheffield unetid disabled Supporters) this raises money to provide discounts for disabled supporters travelling to away matches, she also acts as a carer for both home and away matches as does her husband. She has been with SUDS since it started (14years)and has been secretary for all that time, she is also the treasurer for The Level Playing Field formerly NADS(National Association of Disabled Supporters). Which tries to provide proper access for all supporters working alongside the F.A. At the present time she has been instrumental in raising funds for one of SUDS members Karl Darby aged 44 who suffers with Mycolonic Epilepsy. The money is being raised to allow Karl to live at home with his parents its going to cost a315,000 to provide a lift on the outside of the family home to allow Karl proper access. It is so expensive due to the position of their home. The foundations are now in place and work has started so far over a36500 have been raised. Janet has organised bucket collections jumble sales even aluminium foil collection. Janet also hilighted one of our members Lee Dickson-Geer who after having both legs amputated and since the 1 hand and the majority of his other handhad to have permission to leave hospital to attend matches. Lee as a result of the nomination that Janet made won our supporter of the year. Janet also works with Frecheville community centre helping with many tasks including for many years making there pantomime costumes. A friend of Brunswick Garden Village a retirement complex who has aided them with fundraising activities.Janet works tirelessly to help others although starting to struggle with arthritis.did i mention Janet is 66.She is an inspiration to many.

We moved next to Ms. Shirley last year. We were saddened to learn of her passing this week. She was so warm and friendly and we are blessed to have known her even for only a brief time. Shirley would always say to enjoy the shore and share it with friends and family. When we moved in Shirley welcomed us with a wonderful housewarming gift one that we will always treasure. Our sympathies to her family. Shirley was very special!

I met Shirly over thirty years ago through my step-mom, Lucille Sneddon. I will always remember Shirley with a big smile, vivacious laugh and a funny story to tell. I will always keep the special times I spent in her company in my fondest memories. She was a very special lady with a great family that was always there for her. God Bless.
