Obituary of Joan Colombo

Joan (Gainer) Colombo, age 76, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock Twsp. Mrs. Colombo was born December 21, 1935 in Haskell, the daughter of the late Edward and the late Sylvia (Ackerman) Gainer. She lived in Wayne. After working as a telephone operator in Riverdale, Mrs. Colombo was the secretary/treasurer for Colombo Excavating Co. in Wayne. She was an active member of the Ramapo Mountain Snowmobile Club and the Atlantic Coast Old Timers Race Car Club. Mrs. Colombo is survived by her beloved husband Joseph Colombo; her loving daughter Jodi and her husband Rick Beyer; her cherished grandsons, Ricky and Joey and her dear brother Donald Gainer. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Rev. Michael McKay. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
