Obituary of Frank D'Amico
Frank D'Amico, age 89, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Atrium at Wayne, Wayne. Mr. D'Amico was born September 1, 1922 in Clifton, the son of the late Raffaele and the late Filomena (Braciodieta) D'Amico. He was raised in Clifton and lived in Wayne for 58 years. Mr. D'Amico served in the US Navy in sea combat during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of Operations and received the State of New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal. He retired from Newark OxWelding in 1984 where he was manager of operations. Mr. D'Amico was a former member of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church and a former member of the Holy Name Society at Holy Cross RC Church.
Mr. D'Amico is survived by his beloved children: Ralph and his wife Joan, Frances D'Amico, Fred and his wife Mariliza, Nancy and her husband Hank Buchanan, James and his wife Teresa, William and his wife Lisa, and Larry and his wife Jackie; 18 loving grandchildren; 5 cherished great grandchildren; and dear cousin of Madia Andrikanich. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elaine Buzzi in 1998; a brother, John and a sister, Kathryn Zaccagnini.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 65 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Jones.
Cremation will be in Cedar Lawn Crematory, Paterson.
