Obituary of Sophie H. Vrana

Sophie H. (Cyrek) Vrana, age 85, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Lincoln Park Care Center in Lincoln Park. Mrs. Vrana was born June 3, 1928 in Rzeszow, Poland, the daughter of the late Valentine and Helen Cyrek. She came to the United States in 1949, residing first in the Bronx, NY and working at a Horn & Hardart restaurant. Later, she moved to Bergenfield and then to Wayne. She loved to listen to music and dance. Mrs. Vrana was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church. Mrs. Vrana is survived by her loving daughters, Diana Vrana, Joanne and her husband Don Marshall, Nancy and her husband Rick Wild, Eileen Vrana, Mary Ann and her husband Bob Eckweiler and Lorraine and Bob Richards; and her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Greg Rossi, Jennifer, John, Bobby, Hailey, Kathryn and Hope. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1990. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, NY. Memorial donations in Mrs. Vrana's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07853.
