Obituary of Mary T. La Porta

Mary T. (Elia) La Porta, age 83, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Llanfair House, Wayne. Mrs. La Porta was born February 2, 1930 in Jersey City, the daughter of the late Vincent and the late Sabina (Dottolo) Elia. She lived in Wayne for 20 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. La Porta was the beloved mother of Linda and her husband Robert Rooney; loving sister of Helen Vinci and Nicholas Elia; devoted grandmother of Megan and Shannon; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel in 2008. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 8:230 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes, celebrated by Fr. Richard Husted. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
