Obituary of Anna Marie Sanson

Anna Marie (Gentini) Sanson, age 79, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Twsp. Mrs. Sanson was born December 25, 1933 in Havana, Cuba the daughter of the late Vincent and the late (Maria Meis) Gentini, moved to the United States 50 years ago, and resided in Wayne. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital and, since she spoke 5 languages, was called on often to interpret. Mrs. Sanson was a member of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church. When she was younger, she was an accomplished singer and dancer in Cuba, and was also crowned Miss Cuba and Miss South America. Mrs. Sanson was the beloved wife of 36 years of Gene M. Sanson, Jr.; the loving mother of Gene M., III and his wife Nancy Sanson, Joan Sanson, Jennifer Sanson and Jose Campos; and the devoted grandmother of grandmother of Diana, Liana, Alexis, Eydie and Elvis and 2 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Msgr. Chris Di Lella. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
