Obituary of Raymond Michael Riddell

Raymond Michael Riddell, age 90, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne. Mr. Riddell was born May 8, 1921 in Jersey City, NJ the son of the late Andrew and the late Elizabeth (Meehan) Riddell. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Fair Lawn. He served in the US Navy and the See Bees during World War II. Before retiring; he was employed by the US Post Office, Saddle River, NJ as a Post Master. Mr. Riddell was a member of American Legion Post # 171, Fair Lawn and the Fair Lawn Seniors. Mr. Riddell is survived by his daughter Geraldine and her husband Peter Lowry; a granddaughter, Kerry and her husband Mark Spanner and a grandson, Brian and his wife Karen Lowry and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Mason. He was predeceased by his wife, Mona (Hall) and his son, Roy. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Memorials may be made to NJ State Library, Talking Book & Braille Center, 2300 Stuyvesant Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618
