Obituary of Charles R. Coleman
Charles R. Coleman, Sr., age 65, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock Twsp. Mr. Coleman was born December 25, 1945 in Orange, NJ the son of the late Albert and the late Eleanor Olga (Gremse) Coleman. He lived in Wayne all of his life. Mr. Coleman served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Paterson Fire Department in 1998. Mr. Coleman was a member of NJ Fire Chief's Association; both the Passaic and Essex County Emerald Societies and the Shillelagh Club. He also belonged to the NRA; the American Legion; and the Army National Guard. Mr. Coleman was an avid German Shepherd Dog lover. Mr. Coleman was very proud of his "six pack": Murphy, Hunkyman, Bailey, Rosie, Daisy and his "baby" Gracie and he enjoyed showing and breeding these dogs.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Diane (Sisco) Coleman; his loving son Charles R. Coleman, Jr.; his devoted sister-in-law, Shirley Sisco; his late mother-in-law Stella Sisco (2008); dear sisters: Dorothy, and her husband Charles Churchill and Janet and her husband Charles Black and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will be celebrated by Rev. Michael McKay.
Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
