Obituary of Rosario Calimeri
Rosario Calimeri, age 89, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne. Mr. Calimeri was born November 28, 1921 in Bronx, NY the son of the late Carmelo and the late Carmela (Franchina) Calimeri. He lived the Bronx for 49 years before moving to Paterson and then Wayne. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a printer in Haledon. Mr. Calimeri was a member of Our Lady of Consolation RC Church, Sons of Italy in America and the Passaic County Senior Center.
Mr. Calimeri is survived by his loving son Luigi and his wife Enza Stivale; his devoted grandchildren, Claudia and her husband Chris Barbarisi and Vito Stivale; two cherished great grandchildren; his dear brothers, Ernesto, Alfredo and the late Armando and sister Mary Calimeri. He was predeceased by his wife, Nunziata (Carosia) in 2009.
Visiting will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be Friday at 8:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo.
Interment will be in NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
