Obituary of Robert John Crowley

Robert John Crowley, age 73, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at home in Wayne. Mr. Crowley was born October 9, 1937 in Paterson, the son of the late John J. and the late Denise (Voiland) Crowley. He a proud Navy veteran of the US Navy and Submarine Force serving on the USS Crevalle submarine. He was a member of the US Submarine Veterans Holland Club chapter USS Crevalle SS291. Mr. Crowley was a member of the First Reformed Church in Pompton Plains. He retired from A&P Grocery Stores in 2006 where he was a store manager at various locations. Mr. Crowley is survived by his beloved children, Kathy Crowley Shea and her husband John, Robert J. Jr. and Dennis and his wife Laurie Crowley; his cherished grandchildren, Jack, Brendon, Amanda and Michelle; his loving sister Judy Rowe and brothers, Jack and his wife Helen and Ed; and his dear sister-in-law, Judith Shivy. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Mazur) in 2005. The memorial service will be Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, 529 Newark Pompton Tpke, Pompton Plains.
