Obituary of Ellen C. Remington

Ellen C. (Chatel) Remington, age 82, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne. Mrs. Remington was born June 14, 1928 in East Orange, the daughter of the late Henry and the late Helen (Walden) Chatel. She lived in Pompton Lakes and was formerly of Pompton Plains. Mrs. Remington was a member of St. Mary's RC Church and their Senior Group. Mrs. Remington was the devoted mother of Richard J. and his wife Mary, Susan E. Caldara and Mary R. and her husband John R. Kerr; beloved grandmother of Jonathan R. Remington, Thomas E. Remington, Jennifer M. Hoch, and Brendan R. Kerr and loving great-grandmother of Jake W. and Layne. Mrs. Remington was predeceased by her husband Richard C. in 1998. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes and will be celebrated by Fr. Kevin Downey. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven, East Hanover. Memorial donations in Mrs. Remington's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
