Obituary of Jo-Ann M Tatz
Jo-Ann Tatz, age 53, of Wayne on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City after a lengthy illness. She was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Holbrook, MA She attended St. Joseph's School in Holbrook and later graduated from Holbrook High School, where she was an honor student. Mrs. Tatz lived in Wayne the last 29 years. She was a member of the Concerned Persons for Adoption for 25 years and served on the organization's board of directors. During her years with the group, she served as president, vice-president, treasurer, and in 2003 she received a Congressional Angel in Adoption Award as part of a ceremony in Washington, DC. Mrs. Tatz taught confirmation education at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She also sang in the choirs at both Immaculate Heart of Mary and Our Lady of Consolation churches. During the baseball season, she kept score for her son's games in the Police Athletic League.
She is survived by her devoted husband : Ed Tatz of Wayne, loving sons: Ryan and Evan Tatz of Wayne, beloved mother: Rita (Longo) Tatz of Holbrook, MA and dear brother: Dennis Tatz of Braintree, MA. Her father Dewey Tatz predeceased her in 2002.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne.
Visiting on Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
