Obituary of Margaret Meek

Margaret Meek, age 86, died Thursday, March 31, 2011. Ms. Meek was born October 12, 1924 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Agnes (Haldane) Meek. Margaret attended school No.13 and Eastside High School where she was the first to graduate with a Fine Arts Major. From there she went to Newark State Teachers College earning a BS in Fine Arts and then a MFA from Teacher's College, Columbia University. She became supervisor of Art for the city of Passaic, a position she held until retirement. At this time she also became an elder in the Eastside Presbyterian Church in Paterson and the Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes. She is survived by her two sisters, Martha Haldane Meek and Harriett Loudon Meek. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes, 730 Old Franklin Lakes Rd, Franklin Lakes will be celebrated by Rev. Louis Allan Kilgore.
