Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth Braun

Ruth Elizabeth (Hagedorn) Braun, age 95, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011at Merry Heart in Boonton. Mrs. Braun was born November 1, 1915 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Marinus and the late Elizabeth (Mather) Hagedorn. She was raised there and attended Hawthorne Gospel Church. Mrs. Braun was employed at The Home Insurance Company in NYC for 4 years. Later, upon her marriage, she lived in Pompton Plains for 64 years where she became a homemaker and raised four children. Mrs. Braun was a lifetime member of Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park where she played the organ, taught Sunday school and helped out with Vacation Bible School. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed going to various flea markets. Mrs. Braun was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer. Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara and her husband Donald Amari, Beverly and her husband Michael Palmer, Cheryl and her husband Dennis Darata, her son, Dan Braun and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Monday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and will be celebrated by Rev. Ron Rombough. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
