Obituary of James V Ambrose

James V Ambrose, age 83, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Mr. Ambrose was born November 21, 1927 in Paterson, the son of the late Pompeo and the late Maria (Rossi) D'Ambrosio. He lived in Caldwell and was formerly of Fairfield. Mr. Ambrose served in the US Army during World War II. He was employed by Prudential Insurance. Co., Woodbridge,as a Regional Manager for many years before retiring. Mr. Ambrose was a 1944 graduate of Central High School, Paterson, a member of the Old Guard of Caldwell and helped seniors with their taxes at the Caldwell Community Center. He was also a parishioner of St. Aloysius RC Church, Caldwell. He is survived by his two daughters: Georgeanne Ambrose, Jamia DeFinis and three sons: Michael, Douglas and Kurt and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his Wife, Elsa ( Kirchner) in 2003. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Aloysius RC Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell. Cremation was private.
