Obituary of Vincent F. LaVorgna

Vincent F. LaVorgna, age 92, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at home in Wayne. Mr. LaVorgna was born November 24, 1920 in Paterson, and lived in Wayne for the last 37 years. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. LaVorgna was employed by A & P in Wayne, and later on by Skyline Auto in Fairfield. He attended Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church. Mr. LaVorgna is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carmen (Palmieri) LaVorgna; his devoted grandson, James Samolowicz; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, James in 2012. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Chris Di Lella. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Memorial donations in Mr. LaVorgna's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
