Obituary of Benjamin Del Giudice

Benjamin Del Giudice, age 87, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at home in Wayne. Mr. Del Giudice was born May 23, 1923 in Paterson, the son of the late Albert and the late Anna (Salerno) Del Giudice. Formerly of Paterson, he has resided in Wayne since 1961. Mr. Del Giudice began working in the Del Giudice Barber Shop, the shop that his father, Albert started in Paterson in 1919. In 1968, the shop was moved to Wayne. He retired as co-owner from the Berdan Avenue shop in 2006. Mr. Del Giudice joined LA Fitness and was devoted to exercise. Mr. Del Giudice was a big fan of Positano's Restaurant and was a regular there for dinner. Mr. Del Giudice is survived by his beloved daughter Victoria and her husband Walter Erla; his loving friend, Jean San Giacomo; his dearest son Gregory and his wife Joy Del Giudice; his devoted grandchildren Michael Erla and Christopher Del Giudice and his dear brother William and his wife Selma. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Del Giudice and his brothers Vincent and August. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home and the Mass will be at 12 noon at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave in Pompton Lakes. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Larry Anderson. Cremation will be in Laurel Grove Crematory, Totowa.
