Obituary of Katherine M. Taylor
Katherine "Kay" (Kelly) Taylor, of Wayne, age 89, entered into eternal life with her Heavenly Father on October 13, 2010. Born in New York City, raised there and on Long Island, she lived the majority of her adult life in Wayne. She was a devoted parishioner, choir member and Eucharistic Minister of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Wayne, and cherished the many friendships developed there. Kay's family will be forever grateful for the spirituality, concern and love expressed by these friends over the years and over the last several weeks.
Kay enjoyed a long and successful career as an Executive Assistant at Ciba Geigy, American Cyanamid and Cytec. During her professional career she developed her love for writing and for the English language, which manifested itself in the many notes, cards and letters exchanged with loved ones. She was also an avid bowler during her working years, an active member of the Gregory Social Club in Passaic, NJ, and treasured long car rides on sunny days.
Loving daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Kelly (Nolan); Beloved wife of the late Steve Taylor; Predeceased by three loving sisters: Sally, Rita and Betty Ewing (previously of Wayne). Kay is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and their extended families, and always welcomed and relished her role as loving Aunt to each of them. She was always happiest when with her extended family and friends.
Friends and family will be received at visiting on Monday, October 18, from 2-5 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody.
Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
