Obituary of Catherine Ann Herzog

Catherine Ann ''Kay'' Herzog, age 85, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains. Mrs. Herzog was born November 27, 1924 in Butler, PA the daughter of the late William and the late Grace (Patterson) Stanton. She lived in Wayne and was formerly of NYC and for 40 years, Paterson. Mrs. Herzog was a bank clerk at Brown Brothers Harriman in NYC, a dental assistant and a sales clerk at B. Altman Department Store and at various bakeries in Wayne and Paterson before marrying and becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Herzog was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians R.C. Church in Paterson. After moving to Wayne in 1992 she became a member of Our Lady of the Valley. Mrs. Herzog was also a member of the Christian Health Care Center Wayne Adult Day Services for 10 years. Mrs. Herzog is survived by her loving sons Harold, Jr. and Paul and dearest her daughter Catherine G. Herzog. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold in 1998; her sisters, Dolores Butterfield and Mary Moore and her brother, William Stanton, Jr. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne, celebrated by Fr. Dan Murphy. Interment will be in Weehawken Cemetery, North Bergen.
