Obituary of Jack James Lavorgna

Jack James Lavorgna, age 78, of Wayne and Brigantine, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Lavorgna was born November 28, 1934 in Paterson, the son of the late Rocco and the late Josephine (Messineo) Lavorgna. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1963. Mr. Lavorgna met and fell in love with his wife, Lois, while they were members of the North Jersey Whiz Ski Club in Maywood. Mr. Lavorgna retired in 2004 from the company he owned and operated, Anodizing Corporation in Newark. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Wayne and was very active in the NJ Republican Party. Jack was also a lifelong NY Giants fan. He enjoyed summers at the beach in Brigantine with family and friends and leisure time playing cards and doing puzzles. Mr. Lavorgna is survived by his beloved wife Lois (Philport) Lavorgna; his loving children, Mark and his wife Nicole and Susan and her husband Chris Harlow; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma and Jack. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Dr. David Wiley. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
