Obituary of John M. Daly

John M. Daly, age 70, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Mr. Daly was born August 1, 1940 in, the son of John M. and Jessica (McGarry) Daly. He lived in Wayne. He was an operating engineer for Local Union # 825 in Springfield for over 40 years before retiring. He was a former parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians R.C. Church, Paterson and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Daly was also a Corvette enthusiast and avid Yankee fan. Mr. Daly was the former husband and beloved friend of Donna Daly; loving father of Rhonda and her husband Lee Long and John and his wife Allyson Daly; dear brother of Jessica and her late husband Peter VanLenten, Bernadette and her husband Dave Harrison and Patricia and her husband Bob Grey; devoted grandfather of Hutch, Barrett and Benjamin and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home and Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave., Pompton Lakes. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
