Obituary of Leon J. Juchniewicz

Leon J. Juchniewicz, age 84, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. Mr. Juchniewicz was born June 6, 1926 in Fair Lawn, the son of the late Boleslaw and the late Stella (Curkas) Juchniewicz. He lived in Wayne for 40 years and was formerly of Paterson and Haledon. Mr. Juchniewicz served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Falstrom Company in Passaic Park in 1993 where he was a manager for 47 years. Mr. Juchniewicz was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 32nd infantry unit, Life Membership of the "Red Arrow", VFW Post 1931 Commander and American Legion Post 0174. Mr. Juchniewicz is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Frances (Reihl), his loving children Patricia Key and her husband Lauren Sutter and David Juchniewicz and his wife Barbara; his dear sisters Dianne Ostermann and Jane McAteer and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William (1993) and his sister Helen Schlooser (2008). Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and at 9:00 am at the funeral home, where there will be a prayer service. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
