Obituary of Huburn Binney Eyres
Huburn Binney Eyres, age 83, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at home in Little Falls. Mr. Eyres was born January 21, 1927 in Paterson, the son of the late Huburn G. and the late Pauline (Binney) Eyres. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Eyres retired from Passaic County where he was the Director of Purchasing and was a Certified Public Purchasing Official. He was also the founder & first chairman of the NJ Association of County Purchasing Agents. Mr. Eyres was a nationwide teacher for the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. He was an avid Bridge player and taught bridge in the Little Falls area and was a member of the Lions Club of Little Falls. He was also a direct descendent of John Bertram Eyres.
Mr. Eyres is survived by his loving daughter Judith and her husband Thomas Goodwin and also by his beloved companion Eileen Danko.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. David Wiley officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
