Grandpa always had a story to tell. Even at the the age of 96, the names, places and events of his life never escaped him. The details he remembered were astounding. His life had many chapters- each a testament to his strength as a man, a member of his community and country and -of course- as the foundation of our family. I pray I inherited more than just his good looks! He said a few times that he was ready for the good Lord to take him, and while we weren't ready to give him, I am glad to know he is in a peaceful place and back with Grandma. We love you Grandpa. You will be forever missed and us forever grateful.

Dan, the foundation of our family, was the kindest of gentleman - especially to certain, un-named, son-in-laws who never played a decent round of golf! His faith in God and support of our family will be a model for me always. God Bless you, Dan - and, as I always said when we would end our visits at Sunrise Assisted Living to drive back to Maryland - "I love you." You will remain in my heart - and the hearts of our family forever.
