Obituary of Bernard J. Nelson

Bernard J. ''Bert'' Nelson, age 85, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Mrs. Nelson was born January 13, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Roy and the late Henrietta (Lehman) Nelson. He lived in Ridgewood and was formerly of Ringwood and West Milford and wintered in Barefoot Bay, Fl. He served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and a bronze star. He was employed by Hartford Insurance Randolph as an Auditor before. Mr. Nelson was a former member of St. Catherine of Bologna R.C. Church, Ringwood He is survived by three daughters: Jacque and her husband Jon Weiss, Pennie and her husband Rick DeVore and Candy and her husband Bill Krulan, one sister: Arlene Lehnert, four grandchildren, Brandon, Andthyia, Kyle And Jarrett. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan T. Dannic. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at the funeral and will be celebrated by Rev. Anne Kersnowski.
