Obituary of William G. Edie

William G. Edie, age 81, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at home. Mr. Edie was born September 25, 1928 in Nashville, GA the son of the late Joseph Galen and the late Jewel (Howell) Edie. He lived in Pompton Lakes and wintered in Islamorada, FL. Mr. Edie was the President and Chairman of the Board of Irving Savings and Loan in North Haledon for 30 years before retiring. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Black Meadow Club. He is survived by three sons: Mark and his wife Tina, Michael and his wife Danielle and W. Galen and his wife Dorene, four grandsons: Galen, Nicholas, Christopher and Sean and three granddaughters, Kristen, Victoria and Brianna. Mr. Edie is also survived by his former wife Eva Cunningham. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 - 12:00 followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon which will be celebrated by Fr. Daniel A. Kelly.
