Mary was my blessed mother. I was always so proud of my mom. She gave so much of herself to others with never a thought of getting anything in return. She was daughter-in-law to August Jacob "Pappy" Dotterweich, my Dad's father who leased the property to the little league for $1.00 a year until his death. Mother made sure that the flag was raised and lowered everyday at the field and many a day I kept score at the back of the first field. That was such a long time ago when there was only one field. We were all very proud of Dotterweich Field and what it has meant to the community. Grandpa lived to see them win the world championship and they had a parade in front of his house on Garside Avenue to honor him. It gave him great joy to be able to hear the boys playing ball and every once in a while he would amble down to get a closer look. Thank you for remembering our family.

I am on the Board of Directors of the Wayne Little League, we have a baseball field complex called Dotterweich Field at the corner of Laauwee Ave and Garside Ave. Over the years facts get lost and forgotten. So I don't know which Dotterweich family member donated the property to us but we are eternally grateful for the generousity of the Dotterweich family. And our prayers and sympathies are with Mary Catherine's family and friends.

Gosh, I do not know where to start. Mary was my great Grandmother. My name is melissa and I am the Grandaughter of Lois, Daughter of Christina.
We all called her Gram. Reading the nice piece on this site where they talked about her charater brought tears to my eyes. Gram was what i like to call, my best freind as a child, although... to her i was known as "Denis the Menice". tyhen again, i think that was true for all us kids. I spent countless hours with my great grandmother as a girl. i have soooo many memories. i remember more things about her, and the time i spent in her home than i remember anything else in my childhood. To this day i remember EVERYTHING about her house in Owego New York, where i played in the counrty side. i will always remeber.... sitting in her rocker (which had been Great Grandpa's)looking through binoculars at the cows accross the hill in the pasture, Her white doilies that she had on the end table, the botton collection that i spent hours playing with, her Wonderful homecooked meals, cookies and that mouth watering coffee cake that is to this day my favorite thing to eat.... though it's been atleat 12 years since it last touched my tongue. I will never forget sleeping in her silky nightgowns and waking up next to her in the morning. she always slept with her arm accross her eyes. I would always ask myself, "how can she sleep like that?" funny, now i sleep like that too alot of times. I could talk all day about my beloved Gram, All i have left to say here is that she has touched my life. I love her Dearly and she will always be with me in my heart and my memory.

My beloved Grandmother. I will always cherish your memory as the one and only person who loved me unconditionally. You taught me to love and were a true example of my savior in your actions and deeds. I love you forever and know you are now in the Light of Jesus.
Your Grand Daughter

May God bless all of Mary's family in their loss. She is finally whole again now that God has graciously brought her home. She will be missed by all of you, but she will be so much happier back with her Gus and other family members. She has done her job here and has earned her space in Eterity. Our prayers are with all of you, particularly Corrie and Andy who were part of her life for quite a while and learned so much about life from her. She was a wonderful lady and I am glad to have met her and to know that she was part of my daughter's life as well as my son-in-law's. God bless you all and give you peace.

We met Mary 17 years ago when our daughter, Alecia, married Gus.
We knew Mary as a very fine woman with much love for family and friends.
We will miss her, but never forget her.
May she rest in peace.

Gram was a blessing to my life and I will be forever greatful for her kindness and willingness to open her home and her heart to me. I was blessed to be able to spend several years with her, and in that time she taught me to crochet and cook and it was an honor to get to know her. I will love you and miss you always Gram ~ You live on in my husband and children.....
