Obituary of Edith H. Campbell

Edith H. (Barker) Campbell, age 96, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at home in Paterson. Mrs. Campbell was born August 16, 1913 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Albert and the late Nellie (Calkins) Barker. She was a life long resident of Paterson. Mrs. Campbell was one of the oldest living graduates of Wm. Paterson University. She retired from teaching 4th grade at School 17 in Paterson in 1976. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Totowa United Methodist Church. She was a Board member and choir member of Westside Methodist Church in Paterson; a volunteer at Wayne General Hospital Thrift Shop and at Good Will in Paterson and a Past President of Passaic County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her loving children Edith N. and her husband Noel Brown, Robert J. and his wife Betty Campbell and Douglas B. Campbell; 5 devoted grandchildren; 13 cherished great grandchildren; and her dear sisters, Irma Zuberer and Jean Johnston. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert D. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday at 9:00a.m. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
