To me, he was known as "Pop". I met Pop when I worked at Roth's Deli where I met my husband, his grandson, Bruce. My first significant memory of Pop was the 1st Christmas I spent at my husband's house. We all sat down to dinner and Pop starting talking about something to do with "profalactives" I did not even know what that was at the time but by everyone's reaction I knew it had something to do with sex. I most fondly remember that Pop loved to bake cakes and cupcakes. He knew I loved them and he made them for every single birthday party we had. Sometimes he used the strangest of ingredients. It was not uncommon for Pop to make a carrot cake with strawberry icing. Pop used to often talk about dates and people. Considering the amount of times he told me every brother and sister he had and what year they were born I should have it memorized. I did enjoy listening to the history. He always talked about his wife Cris. From the time I met him he wanted to be with her. The most famous saying of his that I recall is " Come over here and sit down honey. " I will miss that about him. I will miss his cakes even the burnt dry ones that he made as he was getting older. I'll miss you Pop. Rest in Peace.
