Obituary of Lynn Erickson

After a short, but gallant fight against cancer Lynn (Macpherson) Erickson, of Wayne, NJ left this life peacefully, in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 17, 2010. Lynn was born November 6, 1948 in Long Branch, the daughter of Norbert and Marion (Sculthorpe) Macpherson. She was a 1966 graduate of Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch. Lynn was a graduate of Montclair State College earning her BA and MA in Math Education. Professor Erickson retired from William Paterson University in Wayne in 2008 where she taught Math for 25 years. Previously she taught Math at Morris Knolls High School in Denville for 10 years. Always one to think of others before herself, Lynn was a dedicated wife and a supportive mother as well as a friend to many. She was passionate about her teaching, an avid reader and loved to travel. Lynn was the beloved wife of Arthur; devoted mother of Sean and Craig; cherished daughter of Norbert and Marion Macpherson, Loving sister of Sherry Macpherson, and dear sister in law of Larry Erickson. The family will receive friends for a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 2-4 pm with a service at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
