I got to know Lynn in the last year of her life as she struggled with adhesions, pain and many other issues. Lynn did some amazing scientific research which I merited to read.
After many phone calls with her I was privileged to finally meet up with Lynn on one of my trips to NY. It turned out to be just a few days before she died. Weak, frail, emaciated and extremely sick she was nonetheless dignified and still fighting.
A brave, brave special lady.
I shall miss her fire and be inspired to continue my work into adhesions.

I am sorry not to have seen this notice of Helen's passing sooner. Helen and I were best friends most of our teens and beyond. Her enthusiasm and passion was a great influence on me and I credit her for pushing me to pursue my dreams and education. She was so driven back then with such a spirit I will never forget. I have wonderful memories of our many adventures together and I can still hear her laugh. I know she had challenges later in life and I am sorry not to have been in touch more recently. My sincere condolences to the Knapp Family. Linda Shelton

I am sure she had an amazing life, lost touch after high school, but she always had a great sense of humor and was full of life.
Rest in Peace.

I will always remember Lynn as one of bravest people I ever met. So much courage in such a small fragile body. Her fight to make sense of her painful life was never ending but throughout she maintained her humor. She valued each of her friends and realized that although we would come and go our love for her was never in question. I hope now she can find the peace and joy that always seem to sometime elude her in life.

I am so sorry for your loss. Lynn is in a better place now. She is finally at peace with her struggles. I remember a different Lynn. I remember going to Jones Beach with Rosemary and Lynn and having a blast. I remember visiting the old house and sneaking out the boys' comic books to read together. I am so sorry I can't be there and Mom really wanted to go. It just happened so quick and my car is in the shop. We will visit Aunt Helen soon. Mom wants to be with her. Love you all, Cousin Jeanie

I met Lynn when she came to work for me at the Wequasset Inn as a waitress. She was always a great worker and on time for that breakfast crowd. Great personality, fun full of life and energy even at that hour.
Although we have been distant friends I always kept the greatest admiration for your zeal and ability to fight the fight and keep your profound faith intact.
Rest my friend and I am sure you will have eternity all squared away for all of the rest of us. I pray that you have at last found the peace that has so long evaded you.

When our family went to NJ to visit relatives, I was always excited to go to the Knapp house. There was so much love there. Lynn and I were close. She was always smiling and laughing. She was my favorite cousin. Years later, I would drive to see her every Thursday. We would get together with a group of her friends and Fr. Gallo to say the Rosary at St. Mary's. Lynn was on fire and I wanted to listen to her. Life happened and we drifted apart, but Lynn would always have a special place in my heart. The love stays here with us.
