Obituary of Bruce E. Symes

Bruce E. Symes, Sr., age 81, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Newton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Symes was born June 9, 1928 in Paterson, the son of the late Harold and the late Florence M. (Cooper) Symes. Mr. Symes lived in Sussex for 15 years and was formerly of Wayne. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Symes was a sales manager for Von Lengerke Buick and later for Leschel Buick, both in Paterson. He Symes was a member of Vernon United Methodist. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Ann (Backman); his loving children Jamie and her husband Joseph Tavaletto, Laura Fogg, Lisa and her husband William Breault; Bruce, Jr. And his wife Carrie Symes; his 9 cherished grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and his dear brother Harold Warren. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m.with Pastor Alec Park officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
