Obituary of Eugene S. Maloney

Eugene S. Maloney, age 86, died suddenly, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson. Mr. Maloney was born June 6, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Simon and the late Eileen (Power) Maloney. He lived in the Pines Lake section of Wayne. Mr. Maloney was a police officer for 30 years before retiring from the New York City Police Department. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.Mr. Maloney was the beloved husband of 65 years of Phyllis (Rykal); loving father of Robert and his wife Joann, Kim and her husband Edgardo Saade, Lynn Maloney Robinson and Patricia and her husband Thomas Capello; devoted grandfather of Michael, Jennifer, Michael, Janelle and Meghan; dear brother of Margaret "Birdie" Sheridan and Mary Sandell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home. There will be a funeral Mass on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary's R.C.
