Obituary of Vance G. Shepherd

Vance G. Shepherd, age 80, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson. Mr. Shepherd was born December 25, 1928 in West Paterson, the son of the late Vance L. and the late Elmira (Nagel) Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd lived in Wayne. He served in the US Marine Corps during Korean War. Mr. Shepherd retired in 1990 from PSE&G in Clifton and Paterson where he was a cable splicer. He was a member of Allendale Rod & Gun Club and he was the Leader of OLV Boy Scout Troop #108. Mr. Shepherd is survived by his beloved wife Marion (Connelly); his loving children Margaret Shepherd, Patricia and her husband Emmet McDowell, Phyllis Bogert, and Paula Shepherd; his cherished grandchildren, Erin Marie, Elizabeth Ashley, Meghan Kelly, and Charles Frances; and his dear neighbor, Johnny. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Dr. David Wiley.
