Obituary of Joseph Luterzo

Joseph Luterzo, age 79, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne. Mr. Luterzo was born May 7, 1930 in Garfield, the son of the late Patsy and the late Marie (Acerno) Luterzo. He lived in Paterson and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Luterzo was a master mason with Bergen Masons Local #4 in Hackensack. Mr. Luterzo was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians R.C. Church in Paterson and belonged to the BPO Elks Lodge # 1962 in Hasbrouck Heights. Mr. Luterzo was the loving father of Catherine and her husband Thomas Altemus, Susan and her husband Neil Bosland, Patrick and his wife Vivian Luterzo, devoted grandfather of Stacy, Thomas, Amanda, Khrystine, Joseph and Michael; dear brother of Patrick Luterzo, Rose Filippelli, Rachel Lanza and Marie Turanski. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Whelan) in 1996. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians R.C. Church, 410 Union Ave, Paterson. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
