Obituary of William R. Iurato

William R. Iurato, age 92, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Wanaque Convalescent Center, Wanaque. Mr. Iurato was born June 17, 1917 in Paterson, the son of the late Paul and the late Concetta (Schembari) Iurato. He lived in Pompton Lakes and was formerly of Ridgewood. Mr. Iurato was a US Army veteran and a P.O.W. during World War II. He was employed by PSE&G in Hackensack, as a supervisor for 42 years before retiring. Mr. Iurato was a member of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church and the Paramus VFW. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Phyllis (Liccardo); his loving sons: Paul and his wife Linda, William and his wife Debbie and James and his wife Debra; his cherished granddaughters: Corrine, Emily, Christie, Allison And Katrina; his dear brother Nunzio; his Goddaughter, Angela Fiorita; 2 special nieces Carol Tiberio and Judy Moore and his nephews, Joe, John, Tom and the late Kenny and Frank Iurato. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne.
