Obituary of Ruth Muse

Ruth (Rauer) Muse, age 87, died Saturday, May 30, 2009. Mrs. Muse was born October 27, 1921 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Brunnhoelzl) Rauer. She lived in Paterson all of her life. Mrs. Muse was a member of the Union Avenue Baptist Church where she belonged to the Women's Prayer and Work group and taught Sunday school for 7 years. Mrs. Muse was a Cub Scout Den Mother in the 1950s and a Girl Scout leader of Troop #151, Paterson in the 1960s for 15 years. She also was an avid gardener Mrs. Muse is survived by her loving children, Ronald and his wife Maurya Muse, Ruth-Ellen and her husband David Smith; her cherished grandchildren, Aaron Smith and his wife Jolanta Kiersnowska, Jennifer Smith and Ryan Smith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ross and her dear sister, Joan Ackerman. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Rev. Henry Speidell. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
