Obituary of James Andrew Bilz

James Andrew Bilz, age 74, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at home in Wayne. Mr. Bilz was born October 26, 1932 in West Paterson, NJ the son of the late Bruno and the late Marie (Massmann) Bilz. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of North Haledon. He was retired from PSE&G, Clifton in 1996 where he was a Chief Lineman for over 40 years.he was a member of the Local I.B.E.W. Mr. Bilz was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Wayne. He served in the US Marine Corps as a Sergeant during the Korean War and earned the Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Stars and the United Nations Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 199 and the VFW Post # 1593 both in Hawthorne. He was a former volunteer Fireman for Company # 1 in North Haledon. Mr. Bilz was an avid golfer and a member at the Passaic County Golf Course, Wayne and also was a Caddy at the Mountain Ridge Golf Course in West Caldwell. He is survived by his wife: Valerie [Smith], one daughter: Donna and her husband Paul Rusiniak of Wayne, two sisters: Marie Fischer of MacAfee, and Helen Wyckoff of Butler, two brothers: Robert of Radcliff, KY and Bernard of North Haledon, 2 Step-sons, Kyle & Michael Ragusa of Queens, NY a Granddaughter, Sandra and her husband Peter McGeough and a Grandson, Paul Rusiniak, Jr. He was predeceased by his 1st Wife, C. Roberta [Mott] Bilz, his Mother in Law, Clara Mott and his step mother Wally Bilz. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home for Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne. Funeral on Wednesday at 8:30 am at Moore's Home for Funerals and at 9:30 am at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne. where a mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Stanley Schinski. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601
