Obituary of James Brendan Healy

James Brendan Healy, age 48, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at home in Ringoes, NJ. Mr. Healy was born August 5, 1957 in Jamaica, NY the son of Philip and Hannah (Healy) Healy. He lived in Ringoes since 2004 and was formerly of Wayne. Mr. Healy received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden in 1982 and was appointed Attorney at Law in 1983. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Paterson University in 1979 with a BA degree in Business Administration. James was a 1975 graduate of De Paul High School, Wayne. In the summers of 1978 to 1980, Mr. Healy worked in Washington DC at The Pentagon, The Federal Aviation Administration and The White House Office of Consumer Affairs, respectively. He was employed by the NJ Department of Transportation since 1987, most recently as a federal liaison. Previously, Mr. Healy worked as a Policy Analyst at the NJ Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency and was an Assistant Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management. Mr. Healy was a permanent representative for the Catholic International Education Office at The United Nations. He attended numerous meetings and congresses of this organization. His professional associations include; The American Bar Association, Center for the study of the Presidency, Society for Historians of the American Foreign Relations and the Transportation Research Board Committee on International Activities. He was an avid Numismatic, Philatelicist, and traveler, who frequently visited Ireland, the birthplace of his parents. He will be remembered as uncommonly thoughtful, caring and giving. He is survived by his parents, Philip and Hannah Healy of Wayne, four sisters: Mary Jo Ridge of Medford, MA, Kathleen Bianco of Flemington, NJ, Teresa Hoey of Rhinebeck, NY, Joan Wielenta of Ringoes, NJ, one brother: Joseph of Kingsville, MD and ten nieces and nephews. Mr. Healy is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends here in the US and in Ireland. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 8:30 am at Moore's Home For Funerals and at 9:30 am at Our Lady Of The Valley R. C. Church, 620 Valley Rd., Wayne where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
