Obituary of Robert Joseph Mc Minn

Robert Joseph Mc Minn, age 92, of Wayne, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at home. Mr. Mc Minn was born December 3, 1923, the son of the late Thomas P. and the late Agnes (Fritz) Mc Minn. He grew up in Butler before moving to Wayne. Mr. Mc Minn was a Butler High School graduate. He was a World War II Army Corporal serving with the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Mr. Mc Minn's fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was a POW captured by the Germans in 1944. He was the owner and operator of the Old Barn Milk Bar on Hamburg Tpke. from 1944 to 1988, when he then worked as a real estate agent. Mr. Mc Minn was an avid tennis player and loved to travel, wintering in Aruba for 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church in Wayne. Mr. Mc Minn is survived by his beloved children, Barbara Roberts, Bruce, and Joseph; his loving grandsons, Austin, Jason, Timothy, Gene and Michael; his cherished great-granddaughter, Adalyn and his dear brother Gerald and his wife Joan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Nichols), his second wife, Dorothy (Foytlin), his infant son Joseph; his brother Thomas, and sisters Jean Roberts and Barbara. Visiting hours will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne which will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Memorials donations may be made to the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad, PO Box 2004, Wayne, NJ 07470-0291.
