Obituary of Catherine Geers

Catherine (McLaughlin) Geers, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Mrs. Geers was born June 18, 1926 in Paterson, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Paulus) McLaughlin. She lived in Wayne. Mrs. Geers was the secretary for the Superintendent of Manchester Regional High School in Haledon. She was a Eucharistic Minister and parishioner of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church. Mrs. Geers was also a member of the Wayne Elks Auxiliary. Mrs. Geers is survived by beloved children Barbara and her husband Rich Housel, Robert, Jr. and his wife Lauri, and Richard and his wife Ellen; and her 8 devoted grandchildren and 4 cherished great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Edward and her brothers, Robert and Raymond. Friends are welcome to attend the visiting from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. The funeral Mass is on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody. Interment will follow in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. Memorial donations in Mrs. Geer's name may be made to Hospice of New Jersey, 400 Broad Acres Dr., 4th Floor, Bloomfield, NJ 07003
