Obituary of RoseMarie Hewitt

Rose Marie (Barrows) Hewitt, age 87, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at home in Wayne. Born June 23, 1929 in Passaic, the daughter of the late Richard Thornton and the late Loretta H. (Conroy) Barrows, Mrs. Hewitt lived in Wayne and was formerly of Rutherford. Before retiring in 1991, she was a payroll supervisor for the Paterson Board of Education. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church. Mrs. Hewitt she is survived by her beloved children, Thomas and his wife Laura Hewitt, Cynthia and her husband Richard De Jong, and William and his wife Diane Hewitt; her devoted grandchildren, Heather Green and Michael De Jong, Kristin Richardson, and Stephanie and Benjamin Berry; her cherished great-grandchildren, Abigal and Chester Green; and her loving siblings, Robert Barrows, Frances Frangipane, and Bernadette Barrows. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred R Hewitt (d. 2013); her brothers, Richard A., Thomas, Vincent and Joseph and her sisters, Margaret Edmond, Rita McAteer, and Loretta Carlen. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a funeral Mass on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne, celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington. Memorial donations in Mrs. Hewitt's name may be made to the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad, PO Box 2004, Wayne, NJ 07470-0291
