Obituary of Adolph C. Puntasecca, Sr.

Adolph C. Puntasecca, Sr., age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. Mr. Puntasecca was born August 11, 1929 in Hoboken, the son of the late Salvatore and the late Susan (DePalma) Puntasecca. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Union City. Mr. Puntasecca served in the US Air Force during World War II. He was employed by Otillio Construction in Paterson and later became the owner and operator of Tony's Train Town in Cedar Grove. Mr. Puntasecca was a member and usher at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, inducted at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Newark. Mr. Puntasecca is survived by his sons: Stephen and his wife Maggie and Adolph, Jr. and his wife Lisa; his daughter-in-law Janice, eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine in 2005; his son, Anthony in 2015; and his brothers, Salvatore and Eugene. Visiting hours will be Monday, June 13, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne which will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Puntasecca's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601-5608 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
