Obituary of La Donna Jean Hoinash

La Donna Jean Hoinash, passed away at Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ on April 21, 2015, at the age of 92, just 4 months shy of her 93rd birthday. La Donna had been a resident of Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, NJ for the last seven years. La Donna was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 8, 1922. She graduated from Indian University with a double major in psychology and sociology. La Donna was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and was instrumental in re-establishing the sorority after it was closed because of World War II. Many of her best stories were about how elegant sorority life was back then, included sit- down dinners every night, for which the women dressed, maid service and more. After college La Donna held various Human Resource positions. La Donna Jean Cox married William, "Willie" Hoinash on December 16, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN. After they were married they moved east to live for a short time with Willie's family in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. They were happily married almost 50 years before Willie died in 1990, and lived in Englewood Cliffs, NJ for most of their married life, in a home they had built for themselves. They were two of the early residents of the town. Willie was a CPA who owned his own firm with the full-time assistance of La Donna. He also became the Tax Collector for the town for many years. La Donna left behind a large family and friends that adored her. She always tried to make people feel good, smile, and laugh. Her family included two daughters, Lynne Evan Wildenboer, her older daughter, who now resides in Princeton, NJ with her husband Cornelis, and Leigh Ann Pisani, her younger daughter who is married to Joseph Pisani and resides in Woodland Park, NJ. Leigh and Joe have three grown children, Lindsay, Whitney and Travis, and four grandchildren: Colton Joseph and Decker Raymond, children of Lindsay and Anthony Floria-Callori, and Kendall Leigh and Kyla James from Whitney and Jason Moll. La Donna loved her grand children who were also devoted to her. La Donna's great grandchildren lit up her life. A graveside service will be held at George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:30 am. Say a prayer and make someone smile in her memory. She will always be dearly loved.
